Substance Abuse Treatment
If you think someone is addicted to drugs, the decision to seek help can be a big one! For most people it can be difficult and scary. Many of us have been raised to think that we should be able to handle everything on our own, and that seeking an outside opinion is a sign of physical or moral weakness; but therapy can help.
The decision to seek out a clean and sober lifestyle is one of the most important steps in the recovery process. As humans, we are resilient, but it's hard to filter out the "noise" from the environment and the many demands that life puts us through. Deciding to stop using drugs may be a difficult decision for a person to make. But stopping is the only option from many frustrating attempts in the past to to solve this problem and, if it did not work in the past, you may feel a sense of helplessness as to why recovery has gone so badly. Most of us want relief from pain, physical and/or emotional.
You may be coming to see me because the court has ordered you to, or by word of mouth or maybe you don't even know. I may have been on a list, but generally, therapy is stronger after an upsetting event or crisis. Or perhaps it's voluntary.
I'm happy you decided on Ohana Counseling Services. Therapy can help us feel better about ourselves and helps us to resolve our problems. It can bring relief from addictive behaviors and use, increase self-esteem, and relieve wounds of old hurts and trauma.
I will do my best to offer my expertise to specifically respond to what your needs are.
